By Car:
The roads to Whitefish pass through some of the most stunning landscapes in North America -- if not the world. Routes to Whitefish are via interstate freeway and then by all-season two-lane road. We suggest the following routes depending on which direction you are coming from:
FROM THE SOUTH - (Utah, Idaho, Bozeman, Butte, Missoula)
Travel Interstate 90 to US Highway 93 North. Follow US Highway 93 North all the way to Whitefish through Kalispell

FROM THE WEST - (Oregon, Washington, North Idaho)
Travel Interstate 90 to Montana Highway 135 at St. Regis, Montana. Follow US 135 from St. Regis to Highway 200. Turn left at Highway 200 towards Plains. Just prior to Plains look for Highway 28 on the right to Kalispell and Glacier National Park. Turn right at Highway 28 and follow past Hot Springs, Montana to the Intersection of Highway 93 at Elmo on Flathead Lake. Follow Highway 93 to the right (north) through Lakeside and Kalispell and continue north to Whitefish.

FROM THE NORTH - (British Columbia, Canada)
Follow the Crowsnest Highway (3 and 93) from Cranbrook, British Columbia or Highway 3 from Fernie to the intersection of Highway 3 and 93. Follow Highway 93 South to the United States border. Remember to bring your international passport or proof of citizenship. Continue into the United States through Eureka, Montana south to Whitefish.

FORM THE NORTH - (Alberta)
From Calgary, Alberta follow Highway 2 south to Fort MacLeod. Proceed south on Highway 2 through Cardston, Alberta. Continue directly through Cardston on Highway 501 to US Border Crossing. Remember to bring your international passport or proof of citizenship. Continue into the United States on the same road (now called US Highway 89) to Babb, Montana. WINTER ROUTE: In the winter turn left at Babb on Highway 464 past Duck Lake towards Browning, Montana. At Browning, Montana, follow

US Highway 2 toward East Glacier, Montana. Continue on US Highway 2 to West Glacier, Montana. Continue pass West Glacier to Columbia Falls, Montana. Continue straight through Columbia Falls, Montana to the Highway 40 intersection at the Blue Moon Junction. Continue straight (do not turn left) at the stop light, but continue ahead through the stoplight on Highway 40 towards Whitefish. At the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 93 turn right and continue into Whitefish. SUMMER ROUTE: This route requires that the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park is open for vehicle traffic. Check locally for this information. Continue past Babb, Montana to St. Mary, Montana. Turn right at St. Mary, Montana into Glacier National Park. A park entrance fee is required. Follow the Going-to-the-Sun road along St. Mary Lake to Logan Pass. Continue over Logan pass on the Going-to-the-Sun road to West Glacier. At West Glacier, turn right on Highway 2 toward Kalispell, Whitefish and Columbia Falls. Continue on Highway 2 to Columbia Falls, Montana. Continue straight through Columbia Falls, Montana to the Highway 40 intersection at the Blue Moon Junction. Continue straight (do not turn left) at the stop light, but continue ahead through the stoplight on Highway 40 towards Whitefish. At the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 93 turn right and continue into Whitefish.
